25 years WITRON in the Netherlands - 20 years WITRON in the US
Fruitful expansions: WITRON celebrates double anniversary abroad
Parkstein/Venray/Chicago. In 2015, the logistics experts from WITRON had two good reasons to be contented. In addition to the positive development of all business areas, two foreign subsidiaries of the WITRON Group, a general contractor for design, realization, and system operation of highly dynamic storage and picking systems from Parkstein, celebrated their big anniversary this year.
Anniversary: 25 years WITRON in the Netherlands
WITRON Engineering BV in Venray (Netherlands) was founded a quarter century ago. What started as the first foreign subsidiary of the WITRON Group in 1990, became a model of success for the sales region "Northwest Europe". Numerous customers from different branches in the Benelux states, Great Britain, and Scandinavia were already supported from Venray and optimized their warehouse logistics with WITRON during this time. When looking at our numerous customers in food retail, drugstores, dairy products, office equipment, household items, electronic parts distribution, spare parts distribution, technical retail, or pharmaceuticals - one will find that WITRON serves the market leaders in the respective countries. One example is the Finnish service provider INEX, a subsidiary of the S Group, the largest food retailer in Finland. For this customer, WITRON is currently realizing the most extensive single project of its company history. Jack Kuypers, a Dutchman, has been in charge of the subsidiary as Vice President Northwest Europe since 2005. This region, which is supported by WITRON Engineering BV is still regarded as an important future market. Due to strict ergonomic regulations in Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, more and more companies, especially from the food, non-food, and online retail area, decide in favor of automated logistics solutions for their distribution centers.
Anniversary: 20 years WITRON in the US
In addition, WITRON Integrated Logistics in Chicago reports two decades of success. Since 1995 the systems integrator from the Upper Palatinate region in Germany has been operating a subsidiary in the US megacity. WITRON established itself on the US market within an incredibly short time and has been supporting numerous customers in the areas of food retail, drugstore, pharmaceutical, electronics, parts distribution, automotive, mechanical engineering, and the corrugated cardboard sector. More than 200 automated and manual logistics solutions have been successfully implemented so far. Just like the Dutch office, WITRON in North America was able to establish itself with the respective market leaders in this region. All customers are returning customers, which means they already have realized logistics projects together with WITRON either in North America, Europe, or Asia. Karl Hoegen, originally from the Upper Palatinate region, has been managing the US subsidiary as CEO for more than ten years. He is also responsible for the Canadian subsidiary, which is headquartered in Toronto, since 2007. The US office in North America currently employs 420 staff members. On top, WITRON receives approx. 45% of its total orders from North America.
